WHAT WE BELIEVE:
1. The Bible-We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, written by men who were directed by the Holy Spirit, so that their writings are, in the original, supernaturally and verbally inspired, thus free from any error. They are the complete and final revelation from God to man and are supreme in all matters of faith and conduct. (Psalm 12:6; 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
2. The True God-We believe in one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Exodus 20:1-6; Deuteronomy 6:4, 5; Matthew 3:16, 17; 28:19; 1 Timothy 1:17)
3. Jesus Christ-We believe in Jesus Christ as God the Son, pre-existent with the Father, begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died as the perfect sacrifice. His death was substitutionary and sufficient to pay the price for our sin. (John 1:1-8; Luke 2; Luke 1:34, 35; Luke 19:10; John 3:16)
4. The Holy Spirit-We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit. He has come into the world to convince and convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, indwells, comforts, and empowers those who believe in Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9-11; John 16:7-15; Romans 8:1-5, 26; Acts 1:8)
5. Mankind-We believe that man/ woman are created in the image of God, that they sinned and brought both physical and spiritual death (separation from God) upon mankind. All human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought and deed by choice. (Genesis 1:26; 3:1-6; Romans 3:10-19; Ephesians 2:1-3)
6. Satan-We believe in the reality and personality of Satan. (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17; Matthew 4:1-11)
7. Salvation-We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All who receive Him by faith as Savior are justified on the grounds of His shed blood and resurrection from the dead. They are born again of the Spirit and have become the children of God. (Romans 5:8, 9; John 1:12, 13; 3:16; 11:25; Acts 20:21; Ephesians 2:8, 9)
8. The Church-We believe in the visible church which is a company of believers in Jesus Christ associated for worship, teaching in the Word, and fellowship. The Church is committed to two ordinances: believers' baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper. The task of preaching the Gospel to every creature and the edification of its' members has been laid upon the Church. (Acts 2:41-47; 5:42; 8:4; 20:17, 28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:18-20)
9. Last Things-We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead; the saved to eternal life in Heaven and the unsaved to eternal destruction in Hell. (John 5:29; 1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 20:11-15)
10. Assurance-We believe in the eternal security of the believer. (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:31-39; Ephesians 1:13; Hebrews 6:17-20)
11. Christian Living-We believe those who have been born again should manifest a Christ-like life in a consistent walk with the Holy Spirit. This will result in a life lived worthy of the One who has called us. Believers should be separated from a worldly lifestyle and present themselves completely to God. (2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; Romans 6; 12:1,2; 8:1-4; Galatians 2:20; 5:14-26)
